Hi! My name is Michelle. I grew up on the east coast and currently reside in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. I graduated from college in North Carolina with a bachelor's degree in Sociology and a minor in Business Administration. Throughout college, I worked in luxury retail clothing establishments, with a focus on maternity, men's, women's, and accessories. While working in retail for four years, I developed a passion for fashion. That passion flourished as I learned styling techniques and how to dress all genders and body types.

After college, I embarked on a corporate career path, but I never felt truly happy or satisfied. One day, I decided that my answer would be to become a fashion stylist. I find nothing more gratifying than watching somebody's eyes light up because of their appearance, and seeing their confidence soar because of the garments or accessories that I had selected for them.

I went back into fashion retail, first working as a store manager and then the lead stylist at an opulent department store. I loved every minute of it! My eagerness to create a space to bring joy and beauty into people's lives was the origin of iStylebyMichelleJ. Soon, I expanded my services from Stylist and Personal Shopper to also include Closet Organizing and Refinement. This aligns with my passion and works perfectly with the other services I provide to my clients. I can do it all and I can do it well!

My vision for iStylebyMichelleJ is to use my talents to create a professional space to assist my clients in curating their image, to inspire people to feel as beautiful on the outside as they feel on the inside, and to make their closets serene and luxurious.
